The Story of the Béret Français
Once upon a time in 2012, an entrepreneur called Rodolphe Grosset, passionate about Made in France, decided to revive a beret factory in Laàs. The Bearn is the
cradle of the beret, this is where the shepherds created the beret. There were dozens of beret factories in the past in the past in the region, but due to the globalization, they closed one after the other.
Mr. Grosset has set his sights on an old rest home of the sisters of the Congregation of Saint Mary, well known in the Southwest, to install its factory. Pascal and Evelyne have been working at the beret factory since the beginning. More info: The sisters’ canteen and the administrative premises will become the parts dedicated to manufacturing.
In 2013, it was the year of all tests: size, elasticity, impermeability and colors. Pascal, the specialist of the beret launches two collections: Classics and Modes (which are double and have a red Cabillou). 24 colors are created in addition to the fancy berets. In July 2013, the first order is shipped from Laas. Since then, our berets have been going to the end of the world.
Our berets are 100% made in France, with excellent value for money. Our berets are the result of a know-how transmitted from generation to generation. We have combined modernity, trend and craftsmanship. This is how the Beret Francais®
is recognized as a living heritage company with the EPV label.
In 2018, we need more space because our orders are chained, our teams are multiplying. This is how in September, we move to Bayonne for bigger space at 25 chemin de Trouillet.
