The Le Laboureur French Wool Field Coat often referred to as the “chore coat”, is an iconic workwear garment. A staple at Great Dixter and other great gardens, this classic overcoat style was originally worn by agricultural and industrial workers and is now synonymous with functional style.
Simply and practically designed, this all natural wool coat is unlined with a boxy fit and open cuffed sleeves. Meant to be thrown over lighter jackets or sweaters as a “heavy blanket” top layer for the harshest of weather. An essential outerwear piece, the French wool fabrication is as hard wearing as it is hard working. There are 3 external pockets and one internal breast pocket - useful for your wallet, gloves, phone, notebook or secateurs.
