Herdmans Linen
Founded in 1835, Herdmans is an Irish linen spinning manufacturer renowned for exceptional quality.
The defining characteristic of Herdmans linen is its refined luster with minimal fuzz. This is achieved by using only long fibers. During the production process, scutched flax is hackled (combed) and separated into long fibers (line flax) and short fibers (tow). As a principle, Herdmans uses only the long fibers, resulting in approximately 40% material loss.
Through this rigorous selection process, high-quality yarn is produced, creating linen with a beautiful sheen and remarkably smooth surface.
